Measuring window dimensions accurately is crucial for custom curtain orders. Here's a concise guide on how to perform inner and outside measurements.

Inner Measurement

This method measures within the window frame, ideal for curtains to hang inside the frame.

- **Width**: Measure the width inside the window frame from left to right at the top, middle, and bottom. Use the smallest measurement.
- **Height**: Measure the height inside the frame from top to bottom on the left, middle, and right. Use the smallest measurement.
- **Depth**: Ensure there's enough depth for the curtain fixture to fit inside the frame.

Outside Measurement

This method measures outside the window frame, suitable for curtains that extend beyond the frame.

- **Width**: Measure from the outer edge of the frame on one side to the outer edge on the other side. Add at least 4 inches (10 cm) on each side for coverage.
- **Height**: Measure from the top edge of the frame (or ceiling, if curtains will hang from the ceiling) to the desired bottom point of the curtains. Add at least 4 inches (10 cm) above the frame for coverage.

Tips

- Use a metal tape measure for accuracy.
- Measure each dimension at least twice.
- Consider the placement of curtain hooks or rods and ensure there's enough space for installation.
- Consult a professional if unsure about measuring non-standard windows.
